A bad storm, two canceled flights, stuck in an airport with a hot stranger and the guy who broke her heart… what could go wrong?
After Sari caught her boyfriend Zev cheating on her, their romantic Florida vacation was ruined. She can’t get back to NYC soon enough. Unfortunately, mother nature may have different plans. A huge storm is brewing in the Northeast, and flights all over the country are getting canceled—including Sari’s. She winds up stuck at the airport for hours. With Zev!
When another stranded passenger (a hot NYU guy) suggests a connecting flight to Boston, Sari jumps at the chance. But when her mom freaks out about her traveling alone, she has no choice—she has to include Zev, and somehow survive being trapped with the guy who broke her heart!

This is my first read from the author and I wasn’t disappointed. Sari Silver has a gift of music and wanted to be a musician someday by attending a school for musicians right after she graduates. Her perfect spring break was already planned; staying at her grandmother’s house in Florida and his boyfriend, Zev will be there with her. She was so ready until everything came down crashing when she saw her boyfriend kissing his ex girlfriend the night before they were supposed to leave. She had no choice but to still leave for Florida on her own, and from there she met this college guy hottie, Fitz and their friendship blossomed. After getting a surprise call from a popular club telling her that she can perform there, all she wanted to do was go home and have a performance of a lifetime before a huge storm hits the east coast.
It was hard for me to cheer for Sari and Zev but the other characters sweep me away. I love how her mom was very present in the story through all the text messages she kept on sending her, asking her what was going on and keep on checking up on her. Fitz and Dylan were my favorite part of the book, I hope they could have their own story in the future. As much as I wanted to hate Zev, I couldn’t because he was just lovable even with their relationship misunderstanding. I also love Trina, she’s like the bestfriend everyone wanted to have.
Airports, Exes, and Other Things I’m Over is a fun, dramatic and fast-paced read. This book is definitely a perfect read for teens as they would enjoy reading it because it’s so relatable to them, but if you love angsty stories about young love, and all the drama that in between, you will enjoy this too.
