“I lost myself the moment I found you.

One kiss could be the last.

Seventeen-year-old Layla just wants to be normal. But with a kiss that kills anything with a soul, she’s anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses.

Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she’s crushed on since forever.

Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she’s not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn’t an issue, considering Roth has no soul.

But when Layla discovers she’s the reason for the violent demon uprising, trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne… it could brand her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket to the end of the world.

The moment I began reading about Layla, Roth, and Zayne, I stayed up late into the nights to find out what was going to happen next. The world building and supernatural creatures were amazing. The originality made the whole book unlike any other – I haven’t seen a book based on gargoyles, let alone read one.

I love the characters even though we have a love triangle it was easy to connect with Layla. I am really team Roth form the very start but at the same time I absolutely adore Zayne and he’s everything I normally fall for in book boyfriend. So that being said, I love both boys but I cannot help lean towards Roth because of everything sexy and amazing he is.

The whole idea was captivating it was a fast paced novel filled with action, mystery, romance and just enough suspense to keep me on the edge of my seat. The ending broke my heart. The climatic moment of the entire plot was delivered with a sentimental punch on the side that left me in denial, in shock and also quite helplessly in love with the gorgeousness that is Roth. It ended in such a way that made me read the sequel asap.

I highly recommend this novel because it will not leave you disappointed. It has plot twists, a heated love triangle, and a supernatural element that will attract all kinds of readers to this story.
