You represented everything I could ever want and the one thing I was most terrified to ask for.

Ava and Sebastian are two medical residents who in a perfect world, would really like each other. But both of them are closely watched by their demons. Their baggage is not light – Ava has hers carefully folded in vacuum bags to occupy as little room as possible; Sebastian wears his like a lead armor that makes him slouch sometimes. They like each other, but how are their demons going to get along?

Both Ava and Sebastian are in the same boat. They have loved ones who passed away years ago, and it’s hunting them, they can’t move on, they can’t let go of the past making them unhappy. Until Ava interns in the hospital where Sebastian goes as well. Having some common friends, they sometimes eat together as a group and as passed times by, Ava falls in love with Sebastian not knowing at first that Sebastian feels the same way. Hurdles come in their way, thinking that they are not good for each other, but at the end, they both realized that they make each other happy and they finally let go of their past and just enjoying their present life.

Our Demons, Best Friends was the first book I read by the author. I love her writing style, everything is so detailed. Fast paced that can be read in one sitting. This book is not just about love, but rather life in general, focusing on how to move on and let go of the past after the death of a love one. When one of our loved one dies, that doesn’t mean that we can’t be happy anymore, life is so much bigger than we could think of, we just need to accept the fact that they are gone physically but will always remain in our hearts forever.

One thing that I love about this book is it shows us a peek of an intern’s daily life inside the hospital, how hard their life in the hospital can be, sleepless nights and chaotic shifts. The things that these interns do for the love of their job. Another thing that I love is the group of friends of Ava, because they are the sweetest! Plus, the part when they all move in one apartment, how cool could that be? I would love to have some company like that in the future.

If you guys love some fast-paced read, then you should definitely pick this one up. I really enjoyed reading this one and hopefully I could read some books by Diana T Scott again.
