Maybe they all knew before we did.

SYNOPSIS:

Sam Morneau is Melissa Parker’s best friend. He’s also a member of The Kind of September, basically the hottest boy band on the planet.

After two and a half years, Mel is all too familiar with the day-to-day occurrences that come with being a member of the band’s inner circle, including hectic schedules, passionate fans, and gossip-mongering celebrity girlfriends.

Now, with the release of the group’s third album just weeks away, their lives have never been crazier and Mel is doing everything she can to keep up, all the while trying to cope with the ridiculous rumors that follow the band everywhere they go and pretending that she isn’t harboring a secret and hopeless crush on Sam.

It’s weird enough being in love with your best friend. It’s even weirder when the rest of the world is in love with him, too.

MY THOUGHTS:

When I started reading Boy Band, The Kind of September reminded of 1 Direction, like it was 1D in real life, a boy band, new rising stars. This book is a short and fast paced read. You can read it in one sitting. It’s a book about how a boy band lives off screen, with their families, how there are a lot of rumors spreading that wasn’t true, and lastly, how one girl falls in love with her best friend and the rest of the world is in love with him too.

The whole idea of this book was fantastic, kudos to Jacqueline! Could you imagine being with the hottest boy band on the planet, wherever they are and just being friends with them? I cannot! But this book will definitely let you feel what it is like. This book also shows how a boy band has their own personal life that even though they are rising stars and very famous. The fans in this book are like how a real life fan would act, how they would support and protect their Idols on social media, on interviews and concerts.

I love all the members of The Kind of September, the five of them are lovable in their own unique ways. If they were real, I would be probably that one insane fan who have her undying love and support for the band. It wouldn’t be the same if Mel and Joni aren’t in the story. Both of them are really lucky to be part of the boys’ life.  And of course the love of Sam for Mel, whom Mel had love all those years and luckily Sam felt the same way, and Oliver for Joni, even though Joni doesn’t know that yet.

I can’t wait to read the sequel of this book! If you are looking for a quick and light read, then I would recommend you to read this. PLUS you will surely love all the lyrics on the first part of every chapter like I did.
