With blazing longing that builds to a fever pitch, Estelle Laure’s soulful debut will keep readers hooked and hoping until the very last page.
First off, let me start with I LOVE THE COVER! This is one of those books that you will want to buy because the cover is more gorgeous than you (lol, kidding!). But seriously, the cover is perfect!
Lucille is a seventeen-year-old young lady left with bills to pay and a sister to look after. Her mom was missing, she can’t contact her, she didn’t know where her mom went. All house responsibilities were left to her shoulders. She was forced to work for them to survive. But there at work, she met the crew and became a part of the family. And there were Eden & Digby the Jones twins who was been with her since they were little. Eden is her best friend, she can tell everything to her and Eden will do everything she could to help Lucille out. Digby is the boy that she loves but have a girlfriend ever since. Everything changes with them after her mom left.
I can’t imagine myself in Lucille’s shoes. There’s no adult to support you, you were there all by yourself, and you need to be strong because you have a little sister to look after. Lucille is strong and brave at the same time, but she’s also vulnerable because after all, she’s just human like every one of us. But along the way, there were hidden angels that help her through. I don’t want to spoil you guys so I will not tell who they are.
(SPOILER ALERT) As for Digby & Lucille, I think they were really meant for each other. It was just Digby had a girlfriend too soon and thought that she was the one for him. Yes, they had plans and all, but because Digby didn’t really realize that he loves Lucille too. Both of them know each other too well. I am happy because they were finally together at the end.
I didn’t like how the things ended though. It was so cliff hanger. There were so many things left unexplained, like: Where is Lucille’s mom? Why did she really leave? Will she ever come back? Will their dad be with them soon? What will Eden say after she woke up from Coma? AND MANY MORE. I guess I need to wait for the next book!
The synopsis almost makes this sound like a romance, but it is really so much more than that. This Raging Light is about a teen who had to grow up too soon. This is definitely a must read for YA contemporary lovers!
P.S. This will be out on the 22nd! Please don’t forget to get yourself a copy. ❤
